Rogelio Riojas-Nolasco began his career as a conductor with the da Corneto Opera Chicago, where he conducted Mignon and La Favorita. He was invited to conduct Il Barbiere di Siviglia with the Izmir State Opera and the Shaker Mountain Festival, New York. He also conducted Rigoletto,Norma,Faust and Cosi fan Tutte and Don Giovanni. At the Teatro Lirico Andaluz he conducted the zarzuela Katiuska and at the Stuttgart State Opera El Barberillo de Lavapies in a production by Calixto Bieto. He was also invited as a guest conductor at the Compańía Nacional de Opera de Bellas Artes and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Sonora in Mexico.

He has been an assistant conductor at theatres like the Hannover State Opera,Stuttgart,the Dresden Semperoper, Zürich, Barcelona, Bilbao, Cape town Opera and the Baden-Baden Festival for the Metropolitan Opera production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Carmen. Among the notable conductors he assisted are Bruno Campanella, Giuliano Carella, Thomas Hengelbrock, Teodor Currentzis, Sebastian Weigle, Marco Boemi, Marcello Panni, Enrique Mazzola, David Parry, Marc Soustrot, Srboljub Dinic, Shao-Chia Lü, and Josep Caballé among others....With them he prepared a vast range of works comprising Der Freischütz, Eugene Onegin, Le Comte Ory, Madama Butterfly, La Bohčme, La Fanciulla del West, Tosca, Carmen, Werther, Lucia Lammermoor, Norma, Cosi fan Tutte, Cavalleria Rusticana, Aida, La Traviata and the world premičre of Enric Palomar‘s La Cabeza del Bautista at the Gran Teatre de Liceu.

He has appeared in concerts all over the world, accompanying singers in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Spain, Israel, Caribic Islands, Argentina, Guatemala, Mexico, Turkey, South Africa, USA including concerts in the White House, Carnegie Hall and a private concert for Queen Silvia of Sweden.
