Marilena Striftombola


Soprano, born in Athens/Greece. She studies Musicology at the National University of Athens. In addition, she completed her vocal studies with the soprano Martha Arapis and awarded with the Singing Diploma at the “Conservatory of Classical & Contemporary Music” with the highest honors. She has participated in masterclasses with renowned singers such as Marlis Petersen, Cheryl Studer, Eilana Lappalainen. Since 2013, Marilena has collaborated with the Greek National Opera participating in the comic opera for children Beware! The Prince is Messy by Nikos Kypourgos and Giuseppe Verdi’s Macbeth (Athens Concert Hall, January 2014). She performed the role of Lauretta (Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi) at Apollo Theater in Syros during the Festival Of The Aegean (July 2014) as well as the role of ‘’princess’’ (Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges). She participated in the Opera Gala of the Aegean Festival (2014) and performed arias and duets from L’elisir d’amore and Le nozze di Figaro. She performed Stabat Mater by G.B Pergolesi in 2015, (German Church, Athens). She also holds harmony degree with honors and she studies piano.
